I am thinking of working with Ventures Online for the colocation, but one thing that tend to be a major sticking point is the price per meg for starters. So..I wondering if there is any good other choices around Denver area in Colorado that might be able to offer excellent connectivity like Ventures Online but at lower cost if possible? If not, I will stick with VO. I have nothing against them at all, just price wise is little steep compared to the other world class facilities in other locations.

Not really.. I recently toured a new Data Center I read about here on WHT (do a search Denver in the Dedicated offers forum)

There's a new provider here that will be pushing data through XO, Qwest and soon Cogent, there average ping via (comcast) is 60 ms but they kind of store there servers in a garage type.. (seem to burst fine)

So I wouldn't expect immediate access but there selling 1 mbit for about $125 and U's at $25-35

Yes, VO is expensive but they do the job.. I can't rate this new facility even in there same league cause they obviosly are a lot cheaper..

Heheh....doubt it. I personally toured the facility since I have a client who I work for who have over 60 servers at VO and I liked what they got in there.

The only sticking point I have with them is the pricing for the bandwidth which is usually around 375 per meg and drops downward to 275 if you use little over 20 megs. So it is sort of major overkill at the moment and I am looking at going with Level 3 itself which can give 1Meg Pipe for 150 and drop down to 110 if you go upward to 50 Megs or so and the racks are decent price as well.

So....It is a sort of a major tossup. VO and pay huge bandwidth prices, but with excellent Tech support or go with L3 and get Premium bandwidth by L3 and pay lower price for it.

That is the tossup I am facing.

I'm based out of Denver and looked into Colo here awhile back. If you can get Level 3 at that price, then I must have been talking to the wrong sales rep! I was told a 10mbit commit was required, which started at $250+ per mbit. The rackspace pricing was pretty competitive though.

From the research I did, we were going to have to pay a premium to Colo in Denver. So, we just ended up going with Equinix in Los Angeles and chose our own network provider.

You can go to this location here: www.co-location.com and they are L3 reseller and they certainly have quite a bit of good pricing to use. I know that colocation is at premium out here in Denver, but due to solid network foundation and being nearly central in US besides Chicago, and Texas, it have good connectivity between both sides of the coast, plus solid stable geographic location.

Just bought my new dual Opteron server..think I'll have to end up colocating outside of the metro Denver area though. Prices are just too high for one server and I need about 500 Gb's of bandwidth and access to a cPanel license, doesn't matter if it's shared or not. I just don't see why Denver doesn't have many options for colocation =/ Sucks. Ah well.

If you check with us in about a month or so, you can do business with us. I finally got a excellent offer from VO which is so much to our liking compared to previous discussions. So I am working to finish up the negotiations and sign the dotted line while dotting the i's and cross the t's.

I guess some reputation do go quite some ways to getting a excellent deal.
