oh damn, well you could ask your isp to change your connection password and then set some logins on the PC. Windows will only remember passwords under your login so she wont be able to connect

You could uninstal the modem from the control panel, then re-install when you go on......
That should work......

I had a very similar problem to yours. My solution was to buy my own computer, put it in my room, and allow no other person to get within ten feet of it without me watching over their shoulder.

create her a user with restricted priveledges(sp?). set her default browser to mozilla/opera. that will stop her modifying system files. using mozilla will stop all those activex download popups that appear and most users just click yes to, downloading some lovely things such as bonzi buddy and gator, as well as some more nasty things like pr0n dialers at premium rate which edit your default connection - she'll dial in and rack up a $500 phone bill every hour.
Gone.

Well if you can disable them so it looks like the sites are down do that.

annoying as hell. all that i could do was ctrl alt delete and then lock, or get transparent screen lock.
the two funnier options are...
1. take a screenshot of the desktop (HIGH quality jpg) and then set it as the active desktop. then run either transparent screen lock, or ctrl alt delete then lock, and drag and hide the window at the bottom tray, where it's not easily visible. this way, they'll just sit there and click, and nothing will happen. eventually, they will get fed up, and either tell you to fix it or restart. if they ask you to fix it, just sit there for 30 minutes, and make them wait, they'll eventually get fed up and leave.
2. you can get transparent screen lock, and find out which way your sister accesses the programs you wish her not to. you 'secretly' change the target for the icon to the transparent screen lock exe, then bam, she tries and start the program you don't want her to, then *laugh,* the computer LOCKS. when she comes and gets you to fix it, say that she's breaking the computer, and shouldn't run that program anymore. 20$ that she'll turn right around and try running it again, and will be asking you for help within 5 minutes.
hope this helps. :-p

I'm just kidding by the way. Don't really kill her. (You never know these days.)

Seconded.
I too had the same problem back 5 years ago when I was living at home. I had hard drive split between Mandrake [mine] and Windows [sisters/parents]. They would accidentally boot into Mandrake, and then just punch the reset button. Eventually, they fried my filesystem.
This happened several times.
Best option; put Mandrake on another hard drive and used BIOS to boot into it when I started the machine. The default boot option was the Windows drive, so they couldn't even see Mandrake on the other one.
So, I recommend putting in a second hard drive, setting it as secondary boot device, and then using the boot option on your motherboard to boot into your own little HD.Become an ISP; a great value-added service for any web host.

How about explaining her parents how she keeps herself busy. Scare them off a little by showing a few porn sites from your history, intentionally "set in" a few porn pop-ups on sites she visits and show your parents that these just pop-up - she'll never be able to prove it.
Finally, just tell them that downloading copyrighted content is illegal and that is RIAA take notice of those who download over 50 mp3 or something else...
Anyways, you got the idea. Make your parents prohibit her visit those sites and download all the junk.
Oh, and yeah, good luck.
