I picked up HostAce.com today via pool.com. I grabbed another hosting name the other day, so I no longer need HostAce.com (but I forgot to tell pool.com to not grab it). I paid $60 for it, but I just want to get rid of it. I will auction it off, with a starting bid of $40, or you can buy it outright for $60.

Read provider reviews. If you find no reviews, create a thread and ask for others' first-hand experience with the provider.
If you're unsure on the exact details of an offer - ask. Simply respond to this thread and ask the provider for clarification.
