Help me Find a SSL Certificate

Which SSL cert. would one recomend for buying under 200$ ? The best one i found is the geotrust true business ID ssl certificate which i want for one of my websites, i've heard there are a number of resellers for them & was wondering if any of the WHT Members are or if you could help me find a good deal ? Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Sincerely,
ChatBox

I might try Tucows for TruebusinessID or one of their resellers..... I think they have a nice deal on TrueBiz...

Tracy,

Don't think FreeSSL has a Business ID class SSL. They are marketing Geotrust SSL for those though.

Ok, what is the definition of a Business ID class SSL?

GeoTrust owns FreeSSL.

The True Business ID SSL is an SSL which does more than just protects the data transmitted but also certifies that that SSL holder is who he claims to be.

I used to own http://www.ssl4less.com before I sold it to http://www.GeoTrust.com

I tend to know a bit about "verification" for SSL's. I also know a lot about SSL "FUD" to keep pricing up.

To get a True BusinessID all you have to do is get a DUNS number. To get a DUNS number all you have to do is apply. No verification is required.

So "verification" is not a good exuse to pay more than $40 for a cert.

How many consumers click on the little gold lock on their browser to see who issued the SSL cert and what kind of "vetting" was done before it was issued? I personally never have that I can remember.

A better argument would be that there is no type of insurance offered with FreeSSL certs. But then again, your most likley not going to collect if you needed to anyway.

Anyway just trying to help save you guys some money. Take it as you wish.

Well, Rackshack has Geotrust SSL, low end though, but its real affordable, $25/year. You can consider them.

So lets say I go to D&B and get a DUNS number...then what would I do in order to get SSL?

Or would it just be simpler to go with someone like Geotrust?

Is business ID a must or just a SSL?
