Well.

You could build the server yourself if you colo. Hence, you could decide it's exact specs, plus you own it.

Than you only have to pay for rackspace and bandwidth.

It costs a bit more upfront, but may or may not save you in the long run. A lot of the folks who offer dedicated seem to give $99/month deals, this would be hard to beat depending on bandwidth you will be using.
