Well, first off FDC isnt east coast and you didnt ask for opinons on hosts on the east coast.

Before an opinion can be given on a host on the east coast, your budget is needed.

I need something that will host 4 gameservers and make a profit lol. Or I need colo for $100 ish. FDC isnt east but its close enough for me to ping 40-50 from VA.

4 gameservers = 4 x BF1942 64man servers? OUCH lotta bandwidth

Or do you mean 4x 10 man CS servers? = won't clock up too much bw

You have to be more specific

you wont get a dedicated server that can host 4x16 players for $100.

And I doubt you'll get colo for the bandwidth for that many servers for $100.

Up your budget.

So you weren't exactly clear on your request. Don't start getting sarcy with me, I'm giving you advice, and I don't expect you to suddenly snap, I don't care if its past your bed-time, for all I care you should be in bed, you've got school tomorrow.
And you won't get 4x16 CS servers on a $100/month server, minimum you should pay is $200 for decent gaming bandwidth, even then you'll be pushing it!

Even though i myself donnot recommend FDC for gameservers on the Yipes line, you'll have to wait for bgp4 with yipes/cogent/xo, which will probably a lot better for $150 month i believe.

I used to have a 20 player max BF1942 server on the Yipes line and it was running fine without any problem, the speed was fine and no lag either.

Though, personally i would wait for fdc's bgp4, you'll be able to colo for $60 / month soon as well as it says on their forum.

If you're not sure if you want to go with FDC, you can always take a look at Rackshack or Nocster, ServerBeach, Servermatrix etc

Honestly, i will not recommend FDC unless this XO deal fixes up all their problems and even then, ild think twice.
I could go on and on but there is absolutely no point.
Spend some extra $ and go with another provider rather then going with FDC.

I know several clients of ours are running BF1942 servers so you can try before you buy.
Look for IPs that start with 66.227.x.x and you can do a tracert to verify it`s FDC

Most $99 servers are Celeron - around 1.7Ghz with 512mb of RAM, correct? You might be able to two 16-person CS servers out of that. Shoot for the P4 2.4Ghz with 512mb of RAM. You should be able to get 4-5 CS servers on that.

Also, the amount of servers you can run simultaneously also depends on how many other services are running. DNS, Email, Apache, etc - they all cut back on your available resources. Remove as much as you an from the server.

Best of luck!
