Question

Large professional network looking for free hosting and discussion group

I am writing on behalf of Washington certified public management program. This is a leadership program by washington state government and recognized by other US states CPM programs. I have developed a Yahoo group, but is not good enough. We need web site hosting to post our content as well as a link to a ad-free discussion group. Please let me know whether anyone can give any suggession.

I agree, this is an Oxy-Moron in my opinion. How can you want to be presented as a professional group with reliable hosting and want this done for free.

Good Luck in finding Professional Hosting.

Robert

By posting in the web hosting requests forum.

You'll be amazed at what hosting you can get for only $30 per year.

You're probably not going to find free hosting.

If the program is by the state then they should provide the hosting. If they don't then the powers that be, need to include hosting costs into the budget.

yeh if it was someone like one person who wouldnt use alot of space or anything id say hell heres 50 mb space and whatever ya need. but govt organization isnt going to get it from me.. unless of course i dont have to pay taxes anymore or something sweet like that.. specialy considering how much bandwidth you guys would be using on free space.. it just wont work man best bet is to go to the request form and get something for like $30 a year or something cheap like that

You may find more web hosts interested if you went into the program in a little more depth. If it's a worthwhile cause I would imagine that more than a few web hosts may indeed be interested. However, every webhost incurs costs through sponsered hosting so we all prefer to see the details.

100% agree.
I trully believe you should invest some money from your "big" company to buy some webhosting

the only way I can see this working is if you let the host put up quite a few ads on the site... and you mentioned you wanted it add-free too...

I'm part of a professional group and I was hoping you could find me a cars salesmen that could give me a new car for free, and I don't want any of his advertising on my doors or anything.

Post in the webhosting requests because the most you'll get out of this is people bashing you. Good luck.

Well I think the bashing in this thread is a little out of line myself. For all we know this 'professional group' may be something like 'children victims of crime', which brings me back to my earlier post - more detail would help a great deal.
