McHost Forums
http://forums.mchost.com/
Closed for a few weeks. Everyday we visit the forums, it has a message about the database in maintenance and the forums will be up soon.
The "soon" never came.
Now it redirect to http://mchosted.com
And says:
"Our network status page will be back shortly. Please direct all support inquiries to https://secure.mchost.com/manager/. "
No explanation why the forums were closed and still continue to be closed. No emails to customers. No explanation to customers. Nothing.

It may be back up in a day or in a month, there is no ETA. As stated on our forums, please direct all customer support issues to our secure clients area.

Lies.
Forums were closed on and off. Anytime they like.
- On Holidays... Can you imagine that? Forums closed on Holidays??
- When Servers are Down.... conveniently closed.
We customers can't even use Private Messaging on Mchost Forums. I don't see how difficult it is to ban or delete a competitor who advertise there.
Up a day or in a month? Bull****. Their message has always been "forums will be up soon". It has been closed so many times that it's just bull****.
No email, no explanation sent to us customers. Nothing to inform about the closure of the forums.

Umm, whats the issue?
Are you a client? If yes, please direct your support issues to the secure clients area. Support issues have never been handled through our forums. We are in no way required to have a support forum. Interland doesn't, HostWay doesn't, thousands of other hosting companies don't.

When did I call it the "support" forums?
It's a community forums to communicate with fellow customers as you have stated on your Customer Care page at http://mchost.com/support/
"Community Forums
The MCHost customer forums is an online community of where reseller plan and dedicated server owners can interact with each other, discuss issues and share experiences. Communicate with other clients! "
What do you expect your customers to do when our servers are down for few hours, sometime more, and our many tickets are unanswered?
Is it fair for us to communicate, update and help each other with fellow customers who are in the same boat, and share information regarding server or service status, when our tickets are unaswered?
Or do you expect us to come to Webhostingtalk?

Partial correction, they do for some customers, not that that's here or there, but just to clarify.

If you advertise community forums as part of your reseller "package", then you are ripping people off if you close them down.
It's basically false advertising.

It is really simple:
1. Marc owns McHost and can do as he pleases.
2. You own the cash that goes into Marcs Pocket and you can do as you please.
Really simple. What is the problem!

It's the same answer as before. If you're unhappy with your reseller host, move. It's up to MC how they handle their business, and if that includes closing or removing the forum, oh well.
I do agree that they should remove it from their 'pitch', but they don't have to listen to me now, nor did they when I was a client.
I left, but I don't believe it had any impact on them. I do sleep better at night....

That won't work, it gets reported and closed. If Marc can't get his act together and support his clients like the reputable hosts do, then he gets no support here.
