okay so mysql came out with that dolphin logo sometime around july 2001. i have this vague memory that they actually wanted ideas from people at one point for a new "mascot" or something, and i seriously remember typing in a web form at their website that i think a dolphin would be a swell idea. does anybody else remember them accepting like new ideas and stuff awhile back? i really think it's because of me that their new mascot is a dolphin. they don't give me any credit though.

Actually, in august of '87 I suggested that to the would-be founders. So take THAT.

okay, so my memory was wrong! thanks for clearing things up. that vague memory i do remember is thinking up a nice name for the dolphin. i suggested "delphine" or something..
