Anonymous FTP server keeps crashing

The anonymous FTP server of my RaQ4 always is going offline again within hours, I have to restart it via the control pannel daily. I have upgraded from a Raq3 to a Raq4 (also different machine, not only upgraded the OS), and on the RaQ3 the same thing happened, but not that often. How can I solve this issue? Is this maybe caused because I don't have a dedicated IP for the anonymous FTP server (I'm sharing one IP for about 8 sites, one of the sites is a high traffic site)?

Anon FTP runs best on a static IP of it's own. Also check your log's around the time it crashes and see what is being uploaded.

Thanks for your help, but uploads are disabled on the server.
Were are the FTP logs stored?

Does the server crash or stop responding?

By crash, I mean that the proftpd process acutally stops.

By stop responding, I mean that proftp process is still running but no request are taken.

For a high volume FTP system, I suggest getting a dedicated IP and installing something like secureFTP, serve-u ftpd, or new ftpd daemons. I find the latter works better on a raq.
