If your project is worth/costing that much, why is this in the reseller forum?

If 1 project missing costs that much, then perhaps your corporation should think about getting managed dedicated services/servers through a very high end provider such as rackspace.com. It'll cost you for the servers, but you can also have some peace of mind that they're managed and dedicated for your use only.

I would recommend getting out of a shared environment and shelling out the cash for a managed dedicated server with someplace like ServInt.

Nobody likes to hear people complain about losing thousands of dollars because of email on a <$50 shared account.

You want mission critical? Pay for it. And believe me, it costs.

Folks, first, thank you for all the suggestions.
Actually, I don't mind to pay more to move to dedicated server (actually I consider this already). The biggest concern I have is MORE hassle. I am a software developer and really don't want to involve any server issue. Will managed dedicated server means someone will handle EVERY THING regarding server for me? Can i have email server, web server and database server together? Is this good?

See, i have too many questions and have no idea where to start. In addition, it seems all dedicated server doesn't include software. Is there any services just handle all of hardware issues for me?

Thanks again!

Yup, sounds like you need your own server from somewhere like Rackspace.com.

If you go with a fully managed server (www.rackspace.com) and pay for it, they'll do EVERYTHING for you except for walk your dog.

Of course it's not cheap but it's very very reliable and you're not sharing hosting with 100 other clients on the same server.

Sooner you get off shared hosting the better if you have clients who are paying that much...

Greetings:

Managed vs. unmanaged
==================

Some providers offer unmanaged servers in such a way that they manage the infrastructure as some who offer managed servers.

Some providers offer “fully managed servers,” but then go on to list dozens of exceptions to the word “full.”

You really need to jot down those areas that are very important to you as to who is responsible for what tasks, and then ask each provider.

Rackspace.com
===========

Aside from being listed in various SPAM RBL's for being SPAM friendly, Rackspace.com has an awesome network.

However, I continue to be baffled by those who think Rackspace.com offers “full” managed services; they do not.

We know because we are often called upon to provide the managed services to their clients. If Rackspace.com did provide “full” managed services, then we would not get any calls from their customers <smile>.

Thank you.

I suggest you switch to a dedicated provider. If you know how to manage a server, try un-managed hosting solutions. You can find plenty of chit-chat about various dedicated hosting providers in the Dedicated hosting section. Some good ones are DV2, The Planet and if you're really on a budget try Rackshack. If you're looking for a managed solution (the provider looks after most things for you). Try ServInt, they have some great deals going...
