exim_paniclog

Here's an interesting thing that's recently showing up in exim_paniclog:

2003-07-20 08:19:10 19e8ma-0004Bm-Ql User 0 set for local_delivery transport is on the never_users list

It's got something to do with root and mail being sent from it, I believe.

Note: I've got the new & somewhat improved CPanel7.

Hi,

The log says that you have a local delivery (From one user to another in the server) As you said the mail delivery includes the root user.

Normally the issue about system, System automatic Check logs, Error logs etc.. are mailed to the root (or Administrator) by the kernel.

These types of local deliveries are done via a special exim mail queue. So you can see such entries in the mail log for the mails send to the administrator (here root)

I got it working again by upgrading my cpanel stable from 75 to 87

Must have been a glitch in it because it stopped working when I upgraded last time

It has to do with the this line in exim.conf

never_users = root

which basically tells your exim that if it is being sent to root, to reject the email. User 0 (which is root of course) as mentioned in your logs is thus rejected for delivery.

You can just remove root from the config, restart and you will be fine.
