I using schostpro for almost one month now after having two previous bad experiences for hosting one of my sites where I did not stay more than 2 weeks with them because of downtime, at least both offered refund.
I’m satisfied with schostpro until now, my opinions about the service:
Setup: No instantaneous setup , but was fast , schostpro use 2checkout.com and you can go to 2checkout.com and disable recurring fee if you leave the schostpro. I like hosts that use third party sites to store my credit card information where I can disable recurring fee if I wish , my preferred method of payment is paypal, but schostpro does not accept Paypal.
Uptime / Speed of the server: My site is hosted at a server located at Rackshack datacenter that offers good network connection. The uptime is fine , only one major downtime of few hours for some server update , before this downtime the server was showing more than 50 days since the previous reboot. The speed of the server seems fine to me , my site is phpbb board and with 30 users online I see no slowdown and server load average is normally below 0.5.
Control Panel: I think the control panel is ensim , I prefer Cpanel, the current day log file is not compressed , but schostpro the rotate the file daily and compress pevious day acess_log file.
Support: I basically use the helpdesk and normally receive fast replies , less than 12 hours.
Price: I’m paying 10GIG of transfers for 5US$ that I think is good price.
Some things that I think can be important to some people:
- schosthost does not offer SMTP server to use with Outlook, but schosthost has webmail.
- Php , not the latest version , my server has 4.2.2 version.
- The cheaper plan that I use , 5US$ month , has only 1 Mysql Database.
