illusionist,

Mambo is by far the easiest to set in any template. I have been keeping an eye on Version 4.5 now in CVS. It is a leap forward for them.

Mambo's only real drawback is it lack of integration with any good forum, that is suppose to change with 4.5, it should be easier to integrate a good forum.

While EZPublish is powerful it is extream overkill for most and it's forum is well, not very good.

PhpNuke and PostNuke are very popular but are targeted by hackers too often. While phpnuke 6.8 is currently secure the current free (open source) version 6.6 is not being updated as it should be.

Xoops 2 is nice but much harder to customize, it uses the Smarty template engine. It does integrate well with Invision Board and PHPBB.

Geeklog, PhPWebsite and myphpnuke are all worth trying out.

There is no major differences in code in the two, this from one of the developers. The 4.5 CVS version is fromated differently so templates will have to be redone, but yes it is very easy.

Basicly you would just add the header information with some code and place the INCLUDE code where you want it. for LEFT -- Main -- CENTER blocks and other misc items.
Left side block example:
<?php
$side = "left";
include("modules.php");

Here is a recent example: http://www.usupport.com/cms/ this one only uses left block and Center.

Mambo looks interesting.
That's a nice site, sitekeeper. Doesn't look like a blog/every other CMS site.
I've been playing around with Typo3. It looks like it's got some real possibilities. I need something so that computer illiterates can update their sites with text and photos in a totally foolproof environment.
Typo3 appeals because it has a photo/graphic engine that will resize to proper web size.

I can't take credit for the design, I only converted the design into a Mambo theme. Typo 3 is good at what is does. It is in the top 5 Bloggs in anyones book.

postnuke is really neat.
One must use the modules for phpbb2 , mantis , contentXpress and templates and it is really cool.
I would highly recommend it ...

Regards
Amar

I can help you if you need it, but once you look at the code you will see what I mean.
