Did you set up your static IP address as a nameserver with your domain registrar?

When you do a whois on your domain name the nameservers listed should be the name of your DNS server you registered with your registrar.

Yup, you need to register your static IP address as a nameserver with your domain name registrar, here are a few links that should get you starting in the right direction:

thank you sir,
okay i have done that, will take up to 48hrs to propergate?
domain in question is wickedhosting.org (im sure you already know that)
so to be correct, my cpanel host name is new.wickedhosting.org i would add the ip address as a host in godaddy
do i even need a dns server as a vm setup on xenserver them? godaddy will take care of the dns for me?

You will need a static IP for each of your VM's. You say you have a linux and windows VM's.
Just setup private name servers for yourself on the windows dns server for example.
ns1.yourdomain.com
ns2.yourdomain.com
Then chnage the name servers for your domain to your private name servers, don't forget to add the glue records as your name server are a sub domain of your domain
whois
ns1.yourdomain.com ip addr
ns2.yourdomain.com ip addr

This is frustrating I could sort this for you in 2 seconds if I had access to it
Ok, this is whats happening.
1. The DNS records you have created on the windows servers look good, have you fully setup the zone file ? i.e A records CNAME MX etc pointing at the windows VM IP ?
2. Your domain is pointing at your name servers and the glue records are set as 184.68.XXX.XXX (omitted for privacy) is that the IP of your windows VM ?

The DNS server (port 53) is not responding on that IP, are you sure the windows server dns service is running ? Maybe try and restart it.

With the strength of my argument
Yes DNS servers all across the world are asking your server for records. Awesome isn't it.
You just need to understand a little more about how the internet, domains and network services are connected. The problem was your closed port 53 and restarting the DNS server to reload the zone file.
As you are serving the DNS for this domain other name servers need to be able to connect to you and ask for records.

so errrrm how about that 20 bucks

If that's not what you mean, you need to be a little more specific.
ftp works on newbtube.info but not any others domains when i run the ftp wizzard in firezilla it comes back fine and connects, you think its a firewall issue on centos 7?
Do you you want those sites on the centOS VM ?

I need domains names to see what server they are on and if that server can be connected to on ftp, perhaps not a firewall issue newbtube.info is on your windows VPS and I can connect to port 21.
Do you you want those sites on the centOS VM ?
i found out that i needed to sync the passwords when doing a cpanel to cpanel migration in another thread here. newtube is on centos also? its just my tester domain, but they should all be on centos

I would check your xenserver configuration
You want the following to happen
1. Requests for your centOS server to be forwarded to the correct virtual machine
2. Requests for DNS to the correct virtual machine.
I'm not an expert in xen virtual networking but I would think each virtual server would need it's own public static IP, but their is probably some crazy virtual switch NAT proxy thing going on.
The request for wickedhosting.org should of been forwarded to the centOS server.
You want everything set like the following:
DNS hosted on the windows VM with the correct records pointing at the centOS server IP for web and mail for the sites hosted on this server.
Sorry can't help more.Last edited by LJSHost; 10-22-2016 at 09:33 PM.
