Help, server dead slow.

I just got a dedicated server for my small image hosting site. I have about 175 members on it with about 2gb of images.

It is hosted on a 2400+ XP with 1gig of DDR ram. The site seems fast for me, but numerous people are complaining that it is timing out and doesn't work.

The site is http://www.myphotospace.com/

My programmer won't be back for another 12hrs or so. Is there anything I can do to see what the problem is? It has to be a programming error, I could not see that little amount of people causing a problem like this.

Dead slow here too... Still 'loading...."

Try to SSH into the server if it's unix, and type 'top' at the shell prompt to see if there's anything eating up the cpu/load. Paste it here to see what we can tell you.

I actually have somebody that has come to the rescue and is looking into it. They tell me it is a php/apache problem as the server load is non existent.

Sounds more like a network problem to me if certain users are having problems, if you can have one of those users run a traceroute.

Actually, it's not a network problem. There's several issues going on with his server, as it's a custom modified installation of Redhat 7.3 with a serious Ensim flair. All packages were coded to be integrated with Ensim. My team and I had to completely uninstall and reinstall Apache and PHP, as well as an RPM package of MySQL. The Kernel was unstable, as well.

The good news is that his issues are now resolved and his server, though still not quite up to par to our standards, is very stabilized and operational.

macker123, thank you for trusting Thomas and myself with your server, it was truly a pleasure working with you.
