    Anyone used BrainTree?

Hello, just wondering if anyone has used BrainTree to process their payments and what they thought? Looks like a great deal for any new startups - the first $50k is free of charges?! No monthly fees, and they support a wealth of payment methods.

Can anoyone recommend a similar company or comment on BrainTree?

I have never heard of this. I think it worth trying, but you need to remember about end users and understand how comfortable that could be for them to use this system. If your potential client do not want use that payment gateway - that might become one of the reasons of not getting new client. I mean that souldn't be the only payment option for your clients.

We only signed up with them recently so we don't have much experience but their rates/fees seem reasonable and it seems they're related to Paypal somehow?

I have worked with many clients using BrainTree. All have said good things + I've had good experiences with their support.

PP started as an eWallet and moved into offering more traditional merchant accounts. Braintree had their own acquiring relationships to offer traditional merchant accounts but then was bought by PP. So there isnt much difference, just depending on what you are looking for.
