Dead harddrive on Raq3i????

I had this server for 4 years and now the server won't boot.

When I got there, the display read "Booting" so I waited a while to see if you had restarted it. 45 minutes later it read the same thing, so I power cycled it (there is no power button that I could find). It POSTed okay, but when it got to "Booting" it sat there again for another 20 minutes. The disk read light was on the entire time. I then restarted again and tried to use the other boot options - ROM, network, TFTP, but none were available as boot options.

It looks like the drive may have failed on it.

if you have a serial cable you can connect to it and see what it's doing during the post/boot stages ...
9 pin serial null modem cable
115200/8/nonparity/1stop/hw
reboot the raq
when text appears hit the space bar
type
boot
set_params single
bfd

this will take to to the shell
fsck -Ar
might solve it ... otherwise look @ getting a new drive *preinstalled* with an o/s - you can put the 4i o/s and get extra features ...
