Reverse DNS


Hi,

How can I setup Reverse DNS on my Linux Server. I am also using Cpanel.

you most like cannot. You'll have to contact the noc who assigned you the IPs to do this.

A fairly good tutorial of rDNS with bind can be found here:

Its for pacbell but its pretty much universal..

And yes.. You'll need authority to setup rDNS for your IPs and most likely you do not have it..

Making an IP resolve to a domain.. Instead of a domain resolving to an IP..

DNS: Domain -> IP
rDNS: IP - > Domain

Hence the r for reverse
