[RAQ4r] which ram, and how much ?

Hi all,

My ram seems to be broken.
Now I was wondering...
Where there 2 ram modules of 256KB in it, or just 1 of 512 kb??
and do they need to be 133 or 100 ?

I must buy new ones, so I need this info very fast please.
thank you all

bob

The RAQ4's should be able to handle 1 gig with two 512 meg sticks. Most RAQ3's can also handle 1 gig.

PC133 DIMMS should downclock to PC100 speeds, at least on normal PCs, although I'm not sure on this server. Btw, DIMMS can be installed singularly and aren't usually required to be installed in pairs in most situations as the older SIMMS were.

I figured most servers would have moved to some faster memory by now especially considering desktops have.

This was talked about several times on the Cobalt mailing lists. The only units that might have a problem would be the very first ones of the RAQ3 model. The GUI will also show something like 999 megs but everything works correctly and all the memory is available.
