Win2K & DNS - Losing the will to live

My head is starting to get mashed after 4 days of trying to get dns running on my web server.

I have read books, searched the net etc, everything I try is not working.

A guy on the forum posted this regarding getting dns running.

1. Start, Program, Administrative Tools, DNS
2. Right click on your server and click configure DNS server
3. Just follow the wizard and say no if it ask you to configure your forward lookup zone (we'll do it later)
4. Click OK and finish

C. Configure your Forward Lookup Zone
1. Double click on your DNS server on the DNS MMC
2. Right click on forward lookup zone and select new zone.
3. Follow the wizard
4. You should have a forward lookup zone of configured

D. Create a Zone entry
1. You should create several zone entries on your Forward lookup zone.
2. At least it should contain
- A record : Your main DNS server IP address
- NS record : Your DNS server NS record

Did what it says on the packet and got this message when I tried nslookup:

DNS request timed out.
Timeout was 2 seconds.
***Cant find server name for address Timed Out
***Default Servers are not available.
Server: unknown

Any Idea's

This is the default domain I am trying to set-up.

Managed to get the DNS running on my internet server, I think

nslookup works on both IP and www address, also "Test Now" button under monitoring tab in DNS works for both simple and recursive query.

Had to re-install DNS, configured DNS as root server, so:

Forward lookup zone now contains 2 Folders:

Reverse Lookup Zone Contains 1 Folder:
[]68.21.81.x Subnet

I there anything that I may have missed or any other checks I can do to clarify it is now set-up properly..
