SSL Certs

Can anyone suggest where to go for a SSL certificate. Price is my main concern. I do not want to pay too much.

Somebody posted it on this board before. That is where I purchased my cert. I currently use equifax for my secure cert. I would post a link so you could see it in action, but that would border on breaking the advertising rules, so you will have to find it in action the hard way. Look below.

I have one of those. Also, I could be wrong, but I believe that URL might be aimed at resellers, and if so, this might *might* be what they are talking about...

Got this email from Equifax:

Quote:
Unfortunately, we are changing our program and are discontinuing our Referral Rewards Program effective July 31, 2001. At that time, we will disable all URLs which accept referrals for the Equifax Secure
eBusinessIDs (Digital Certificates). You may still purchase Equifax Secure eBusinessIDs at our very affordable price by visiting http://www.equifaxsecure.com/ebusinessid/step_one.html.
Now, I'm not sure if this *is* what they are talking about or not, but maybe someone else knows. If so, I'd think it means these URL's might not be valid for much longer. Anyone with info?

We use it since last week. I had problems at the beginning taking 4 days for my first cert. Got very friendly help from their support and 2 hours later i had my fist cert from them. More certificate applications took actually only minutes to go throught and i had the cert in my email. So i am happy with them, at least for now and we just signed the reseller contract.

after reading about freessl here, I went out and got a finished cert in less than 15 minutes, that is from generating my csr to verifying the request and then receiving back the final cert. Works fine in IE, but not in Netscape it seems, but hey, It has been almost 5 days since I have heard from thawte and no updates at all on my status page, yep, I think this will work for me.
