Raq3 memory specifications ???

from what information I've gathered a Raq3 requires:

SDRAM, PC100, 168-pin DIMM, CL=2, Non-parity

I see that kingston and crucial sell memory upgrades
for the Raq3, BUT, would most any PC100 Non-parity
memory work in a Raq3, OR is there something "special"
about it's specification ?????

thanks

I'll tell you this - memory problems are too difficult to diagnose - I used cheaper RAM at one point, but after a few hellish nights trying to reproduce ghosts that were eventually attributed to inferior RAM - so I spend the extra few bucks for Crucial chips every time. Worth every penny, and never a problem.

thanks for your input, i just did'nt want to BUY more memory
when I already had some PC100 sticks, mainly PULLS from IBM P2 machines.......ORIG IBM OEM MEM......
was going to try them, but kinda was worried that maybe they may "seem" to be ok, but
might give me problems down the road because of specific specs needed for cobalt raq3's.......
or should I assume that if it's quality memory and it works, that all's probably well ???

again, thanks for any input

"SDRAM, PC100, 168-pin DIMM, CL=2, Non-parity"

imo you should try running it with your ibm ram, only problem might be the CL being 3, not sure what raq will do if CL is mixed, but probably set both to CL3

and if you see any problems, you can still remove them
