Question

who should I take

Ok after a lot of research. (well not too much... I have exams and all...)

I came up with a view company names :
onsmart
ipower
honosty.com
Chatcircuit
lunar

what are my requests ? :
-about 150-200 MB of space
-bandwidth... I dunno... no much just starting up
-view pop accounts
- streaming audio/video
-Cpanel (especially for FORUM )
-templates for sites would be a nice extra

Thing is I live in Europe (belgium) and I've read that Ipower is a bit slow sometimes from belgium...(anyone currently experiencing this ??? )

I know... I searched the forum for a lot of answers but.. maybe some last minute things to know....

I must say ipower attacts me the most. they are cheaper than lunar and quit a good support section. BUt if you really DO NOT recommend Ipower, you may tell me....

thanx a lot...

....-***hoping I can finally decide which host to take...****

My friend had a bad experience with Ipowerweb, you experience may vary. They did try hard to keep him as a customer (offered him like half a year of free hosting or something though. I think ipower web is targeting the market that uses like next to no bandwidth. They look very attractive because they are offering 20 GBs, but often their clients only use a few hundred megs of bandwidh a month if that

mhhh seems people really like lunarpages...

they seem to have good services indeed... but a little more expensive than chatcircuit ...

but then again.. the difference in price will certainly affect their services... so a little more per month for good support is worth the deal I suppose....

Ok it seems that lunarpages is the big winner here!

final question though....:

My website will mostly be for pictures/steaming video from my vacations and other stuff....

Now most of my friends and people who will view the site are based in europe and some from africa.
Are lunarpages servers only in the USA ? (I posted this question on their forum as well)
does someone have low bandwidth experience with lunarpages from europe ???

thanx in advance....

I just sent an email to max at Lunarpages asking him to join this thread. Maybe he can answer your questions.

The Lunarpages servers are indeed on the West Coast in the States.

However I am from Sweden, and i get really short ping times from Sweden when I am there (I live in Los Angeles). And the transfer rate is excellent. You can try yourself by downloading this file http://area51.lunarpages.com/1mb.zip
