I need to preregister some .biz domain.

Any idea?

I have pre-registered a few .biz names, but prior to it I searched and found none that refunded.

till when it's possible to preregister?

till when it's possible to preregister?

another question: i see many services that offer silver or gold registration. is it useful? If I'm not wrong i red that if 2 or more people register the same .biz domain it is assigned by chance. Correct?

I believe thats the hook they want you to file many applications to increase your chances of winning if it comes down to a draw from a hat. I filed mine through dotster and did NOT submit multiple applications for the domains I wanted. This pre-register system seem's kinda slanted to me and leaves me feeling somewhat cheated. If get them great, if not at least I tried without going overboard.

Pre-registration for the new names is simply placing your name on a list which will in theory be submitted the day the name goes live. You are essentially paying a registrar to hold your place in line so I doubt you will find a company that is willing to do that and provide a refund. You are also correct in that since each registrar (and affiliate, and everyone else) is keeping a separate list it will be the luck of the draw. This is of course assuming you do not have a trademark on the name in which case you have special preregistration rights.

UKReg.com charge you £5 per pre-registration but supposedly refund it if you aren't sucessfull.

You can also buy tickets i.e. the more tickets you buy the more likely you will be of registering .biz/.info domain before someone that has bought less tickets, (hope that made sense)

* What if?

If I subscribe to preregister a .biz domain I have 1/n chanche to have the domain. Where n is the number of people that want my domain.

But if I subscribe 10 times as my parents/relatives/friends I have 10/n+9 chance to have the domain name.

Am I correct?

Any objection?

Moreover if someone like ukreg gives me back the money I've spent the same :-)

WOw!

Marco.

Correct, the more applications you submit per domain, the better the chances you have to securing it.
