SSL certificate

At the moment I'm torn between Comodo Instant SSL and geotrust. Which do you think is best or are they all pretty much the same?

I am pretty sure Geotrust certs are compatible with more browsers than Comodo which is what we use.

I never used Comodo but Geotrust.
Geotrust seems to be a better choice.

We use both and have had no problems with either. You can get a geotrust certificate quickly from rackshack for $39 - so this gets our recommendation purely for price.

I would go geotrust just because their order form is the coolest thing on the internet.

Yes, but even with the tax you're geting a good certificate at a good price with easy setup.

I guess you can tell I'm partial to the Geotrust certs from Rackshack.

I have a SSL certificate with Comodo and haven't had any issues with them thus far. However, I couldn't really tell you which company is better, all I can say is that I'm satisfied with my purchase and have no regrets.

go for the GeoTrust

I think you should go for the GeoTrust...

There is something weird with Comodo and IE. 5.0 and 5.01 ... also their 3 yr cert. isn't vaild for 3 years for some reason...

I just got a cert for $35 from freessl.com

--- I although I haven't got mysite going yet... they have good tech support...

No, I purchased one and I'm at The Planet not Rackshack.

SSL is needed for secure ecommerce transactions. Most people will not give you their credit card info if they do not see https: or lock icon.
