dont go with HTTPme they SUCK!
okay ive signed up with HTTPme cause my previous host was down for way too much (edgehost, do a search here). on recommendations of great uptime i joined httpme. last month was total HELL. with HELL, i mean almost 20 hours downtime. i was promised better uptime and that the issues were resolved, now tonight a few days later i have almost 4 hours downtime AGAIN!!! i completely understand if a host has some downtime but if the server is a TOTAL PIECE OF CRAP, replace it!!!!!!
spilling a few dollars from your pocket isn't gonna hurt you, just provide us with the promised service.
god i am so mad right now. i lost most of my clients with edgehost and now the last ones i have are threatening to leave as <<<Edited. So, even if they had some downtime, you do realize they are trying there best to fix those problems, don't you? Httpme's a pretty good company...the last thing you should've done is posted here about your problems. And they informed you the problems they're having, all you have to do is cool down now.

No, posting here with problems is good. Gives some balance. I believe in a balance of positive and negative forces. Balance is good.

Oh God, another one.
Downtime's HAPPEN, wherever you go. If you're going to stick with your disgusting atitude, you'll never be able to settle ANYWHERE. Unless you're willing to fork out thousands for a cluster of servers all networked and rsync'ed to each other.
HTTPme is great, and has been doing whatever they can to resolve the current downtime issue. Besides, NAC was ultimately at fault. Actually, no. Maybe God was at fault, since lightning struck outside? So take it up with God then, and you'll find yourself in hell. Till then, you might wanna work on changing your atitude and giving others a break.

You are having a run of bad luck, nothing more! It is how you deal with it that makes a difference! HTTPME is a good solid company, while you might find some equal to them but none better!Last edited by SoftWareRevue; 06-01-2003 at 05:25 AM.

It's ok. Folks can vent as much as they like. It's probably healthy to do so in times like this.• WLVPN.com • NetProtect owned White Label VPN provider •

No matter what you say bob someone will see something wrong with it.
It's obvious in this case.dotGig

Certainly it hurts to get burned with extended down-time. The immediate response would be to ask whether the original poster is aware of the wider issues, such as the NAC fire alarm that screwed a number of hosts.
However, on reflection, I wonder if HTTPme has actually e-mailed it's customers about the issue.
I have a different host - superb customer care - who was also badly affected by events at the NAC - but they have still yet to send a general announcement e-mail informing customers of what is going on.
Customers should *never* have to trawl BB's to find updates on their hosts. Hosts should provide such quite freely, especially where seriously downtime issues occur.
However, if the HTTPme announcement is made on the HTTPme BB, then this whole complaint seems to be primarily one of mis-communication.

hold, I am not directing to httpme or bob
I'm simply stating the fact that there was no need to bash httpme.com on WHT, especially when they have taken every step to inform their customers and resolve the downtime issues. Things like this happen. I've never directly insulted the user, since that would be childish, but it disgusts me to see such shallow minded users on WHT.• Have • you • Floble'd • today? •0

themuddrix,
You have my sympathy. I do not think you deserve the comments above.
Your provider says:"But you are more than welcome to source supply from elsewhere..."
It's a terrible comment to say to a customer. In you position, I would change supplier after a statement like that. There are hosts with servers at the same DC (NAC) as Httpme, with the same quality of support etc. but offering better prices. I've always considered Httpme to be overestimated on WHT.

Not meaning to thread dive here but is suckasshost a real company? am I a blond for asking this?..lol Can I not see a joke when I come upon one? Is anyone registered with them and actually filed the requirments to send credit card information through email? Maybe im just an idiot for taking the time to write this post?..lol
Anyway - Httpme is a very stable and good host. I know a fire ripped through NAC and caused alot of downtime on many servers. Just take a chill pill dude. Stay with them. They are a top knoch company that deserves a second chance. Never jump the gun on a host. Maybe it wasn't their problem. Maybe the server is still up but the routers went out or a switch went bad. Who knows, anything can happen thats not server related.Matt Williams :: President/CEO

Well, maybe it's because the part you quoted doesn't apply in this case? Just MAYBE.
