550 & fan, active monitor warnings

My 550's Active Monitor state changes email says:
* One or more system components is running dangerously hot. One of the system fans may have failed. Please check that the system has adequate ventilation and that all fans are operating correctly.

Then 15 minutes later:
* The system temperature is normal.

During this time, then tool light is yellow, then goes off after the
"normal" message.

I've opened the 550 to check things out, and the fans seem fine, no real buildup of dust, etc.

It occurs a couple of times a week.

A glitch in a sensor, or a failing fan?
Anyone with this problem and know why it happens?

thnx, Manny
