Downtime alert

Hello,

Does anyone know of any software that would alert you via pager when your server is down?

Like it ping to your server every certain min or sec and will alert you when the ping doesn't go through.

There are nice services like
http://www.qwkmon.net
http://www.internetseer.com
http://www.netmonitor365.com

the basic ones are free. This way also the problem is solved that the software has to run on a different network to be reliable.

internetseer gets my vote
had some probs with accuracy of qwkmon ??
I know they have been working on it
but for free I would give those two a shot
try em for a few months then decide which one to pay to get more service

For me its completely the other way:
Internetseer is inaccurate while qwkmon is very fine.

Servers Alive

We use Servers Alive (www.serversalive.com) and love it. It's fast, flexible, and does everything we need (and there are some features we don't use that could be very handy for some hosts).

Servers Alive is a great tool, and it's free for up to 10 hosts.
