After 1 hour, inform business customers
Nac appears to be a very well run operation, so I'd expect downtime to be minimal. I have faith the servers will be down less than 2 hours - 3 at the max.
Before hosts start protesting at *ever* experiencing downtime I recommend they keep their hair on and immediaetly turn to the issue of addressing all business customers the moment 1 hour downtime is reached.
Btw - there are a *lot* of broken threads. this is not a great advertisement for vBulletin. Which version are you running??

The problem most likely isn't with vB -- it has to due with all the hacks and modifications that WebDev and the team have had to put into place to make WHT an awesome place
Just let them know what problems you are having and they will fix them ASAP

Ah, well. I couldn't at all post in a NAC thread. Seems silly that the mods were locking Nac threads and referring members to one where they could not post! I smell a conspiracy!

yea, I informed customers right when I heard there was a fire. Honestly is the best policy.

My Alertra report has me down for a total of 56 minutes a some odd seconds. Which I give great praise to NAC for getting things up and running that fast.

Especially since they were down because of a fire!
I think they handled this as well as could be expected....

Well, it appears there never was a fire..
http://www.nac.net/announcements.asp?Action=View&ID=22
Quote:
At 10:20 am this morning, we had a component failure in the UPS at our Site B co-location facility in Parsippany, NJ. We had no warning of this failure, and we are currently investigating the cause. This failure triggered the fire alarms and the fire suppression system, and caused the UPS unit to drop all power to Site B. In addition, because this failure caused the fire alarms to be set off, the entire building had to be evacuated while the fire department investigated. NAC personnel worked with the fire department to ensure the building environment was safe to re-enter.
Some of the core switching equipment in Parsippany was affected by this UPS failure and power outage and had to be moved to a backup power system. At approximately 12:00pm the fire department allowed all personal to re-enter the building.
The power failure did not affect any customers located at our Newark, NJ site or any services in any other states.
We are currently assessing any on-going issues, but most services have been restored. We will post an additional update as more information becomes available.
If you have any questions please feel free to call us.
