Does anyone know what device this is?

Hi ya all,

I have a Ventures Online server which had a major problem with it, so it was rebuilt and moved to Verio's datacenter but for the last 3 weeks, a device mounted as /backup was left in it and I was wondering what it is.

It is
IC35L040AVER07-0 (Capacity: 38.35 GB )

Does anyone know if that is a hard drive or a tape drive?

Its problys your backup hard drive.
They put in another hard drive that mirrors your primary hard drive so incase of disk failure, in theory, you shouldnt have too much downtime.
Thats the theory behind it anyway. Im not sure how effective it is?
I can think of problems such as if you got hacked then you would simply have a "hacked" backup on your 2nd hard drive.

..but yes, it seems as if its your backup HD.
Its a hard drive though.

Regards

Craig

aaah thanks =)

Weird thing is, we are only meant to have a 30gb hard drive, not 1 x 30gb and 1x40gb =)

/backup has no data on it =)

Wonder if they forgot to remove it....
