Is this possible - 32GB, 4 cores, 1HD+1 small SSD, USA, 10TB+ data for $100 or less?
I'm looking to replace my current provider (slow network, slow service - I'll make a separate review).
my current server specs: 24Gb, 2xHDs, 4 cores (old), unmetered
what I'd like:
at least 32GB, 1xHD + 1x small SSD, 4+ cores (speed not important), at least 10TB (on a non-sucky pipe), unmanaged, centoOS
-don't need a lot of disk because everything important I have on amazon S3 and I mount it.
-don't need a lot of CPU speed, though more cores the better (running lots of little procs)
-don't need backup (NSA gives free backups jk)
-do need a lot of RAM because I run a lot of stuff in docker
-do need a small SSD for a db journal
-do need US provider
-do need a non-shady provider!
I've found things that come close to the specs in the title.
-tier.net has something close but they are light on the bandwidth.
-gigapros has something exactly what I want, but when I try to by, it says "Coming Soon" - arg! Teases.
Side comment: what's up with euro dedicated providers being so much cheaper than the US? Do they get free electricity from their govt's or something??? This baffles me because I'd think hardware, real estate, personnel etc etc would be more expensive in euland.
Thanks

Definitely possible since you're looking for an unmanaged setup. You can try asking the providers if they offer any small SSD options too if they only show larger SSD choices.

Yes, you can have under 100 $ ... Intel Xeon E3-1230v2 from US will surely be under 100$ and having almost same specs ...

It should be easy to find what you need, although cutting it a bit close on the budget should still be a lot of good options available. You should probably look for an E3 processor as those tend to be inexpensive and should fit the bill in terms of performance, maximum ram, and price.

With 32GB RAM and SSD, you may be looking at an older processor. Good luck with your search.
