Fraud Warning

Hey, got an order a couple of minutes ago on a $40/month plan paying a year in advanced.

Fullname: Dr. Soenarto Widjaja
Email Address: drosel92@hotmail.com
Domain: www.albawz2.com
IP Address: 195.22.199.172

When he made his payment the name on the credit card was Gert Zimmermann from Germany. 195.22.199.172 traces to Albania. 2checkout marked it fraud so if anyone gets an order with the above, be alert.

LOL. Albanians, yes. You have to be from the Balkans, I lived in Macedonia (neighbours to Greece and Albanians). They're nothing but trouble.

Sounds like a racist comment to me.

A little research shows Albania is a sick country. It's the poorest in Europe and home to many organized crime organizations that traffic in drugs and arms among other things. The police force is corrupt. And the government collapsed when billions of dollars were lost in pyramid schemes. It supposedly has a 90% literacy rate, but 60% of its population consists of illegal immigrants. Given these factors and its central location, it's not surprsing it has become a haven for criminal activity.

from a story in 2000:

Quote:
One of Italy's top prosecutors, Cataldo Motta, who has identified Albania's most dangerous mobsters, says they are a threat to Western society.

"Albanian organised crime has become a point of reference for all criminal activity today," he says.

"Everything passes via the Albanians. The road for drugs and arms and people, meaning illegal immigrants destined for Europe, is in Albanian hands."

When the prosecutor leaves his office, three police bodyguards are at his side because of the risk of assassination by Albanian gangsters.

Not really a racial comment, it's just bad experiences with them. As adland said, it's all true. Heck, my country was at war with their guerrelas (spelling?). But lets not start a hate thing, just stay away from customers from Albania. Also, does PayPal check against CC fraud?

So you are saying no one from Albania can be trusted?

"Oh but wait, I got an order from John that was fraud. That's it....no more dealing with anyone named John, they are all crooks." (just a little sarcasm)

I don't care what is happening in their country, it is unfair and down right arrogant to assume every citizen there is a fraud. Do your fraud checks, but don't start profiling someone just because they live in a certain country.

Thanks for the tip about this "specific" person.

I hope that wasn't aimed at me as I just posted the fraud warning and others seemed to include their little comments.

Did you verify this before you posted, especially since you posted personal information?
2checkout and other card verifiers often reject cards based on the country of origin and not on the card itself.
It's a little irresponsible to make this kind of post without having all of the facts.
