tried it, somewhat functional, leaves a lot to be desired, but what more do you expect from a free panel. Most of the functions didn't work well/at all, mind you i tried it about a year ago.

The problem you have with free panels is the lack of a real development team. If an update/patch needs to be made it will often take a single developer a long time to release - not a very security wise idea if you plan to use this sort of panel on a production server.

Matt nailed it right there. The concept of security updates, bug fixes, etc., is either unknown or very slow to develop with free control panels. There is no major incentive to "catch up."
This is not to say free control panels are unreliable or programmed poorly. However, you must thoroughly evaluate a free control panel before trusting it with your customers.
