    Auto reponders.

Hey guys, if you use your company email as your WHT contact for subscribed threads, please turn off auto response. We seem to get inundated with them lately. The responders get sent to moderators@

Maybe you could just not check that mail.

It would be good to have an option on WHT to enable holiday mode

I use this 1 email address for everything. I also subscribe to a LOT of threads. When I go away its important to have an auto responder, but there is no easy way to stop it going to all my notifications on WHT.

Seems like it couldn't be that hard to set up one email account to use for just WHT and 'not' associate it with an auto-responder.

I was wondering what happens if you mail someone that has an autoresponder while you have an autoresponder yourself as well.

Your mail -> server replies with an automail -> your server replies with an automail

That will cause unlimited bandwith use right?

    * me is turning off his automail

ic3d this has been discussed before and has often been the cause of mailserver problems. A lot of auto responder systems now have fail safe systems for that very reason!

Had that happen on one of our servers that the user had hivemail installed on.

Our server got into a mail battle with yahoo.

It might be an idea if we simply change the address to something like forummailer@webhostingtalk.com and drop a note into the 'Forum Mailer' stating if you wish to contact the mods, fire off an email to mods@... or use the "Report this post to a moderator" feature. Then forummailer@ just get's null routed. That would knock the problem out in one
