RaQ 4, Pages are not displaying

Can someone PLEASE help! All the sudden it seems my DNS is not working. when I type the domain names that are in my server pages are not displaying. It makes it seems as if I never registered the domains. It is also affecting all the other raq's running DNS from the main server.

Your Fast Help is Appreciated, and I thank you in advance.

Need more info. What are your nameservers called?

Also does the raq function normally? You can get in the controlpanel and all? No red lights? The DNS is running?

nameservers are called ns.wabwire.net

I can ssh into my server, my email is working fine, my webpages are not appearing when i type in the domain name or ip address.
I have one raq being my DNS, and it is not calling none of the pages to my 2nd raq too.

Thanks for your rapid help.
I appreciate it.

How do you get into SSH? Through IP or through the url?

Yes, but in the hostname/IP field what do you fill in?

Also, can you run top and post the results?

In SSH on the command prompt type: top
This will give you a status overview. Can you copy/paste it here?

Weird. The strangest thing is that you can connect to SSH by typing in your url. This means DNS is not dead or else that would not be possible. *edit*: then again... if DNS works and it is a server problem then why does the DNS also not work for your other server..

Also can't connect to your site by typing in the IP. IP is not related to DNS. As long as the server is up and running you should always be able to connect through the IP.

Did this happen all of a sudden or were you installing software at the time?

I was updating patches on my servers and when the main one rebooted that was it. does this have anything to do with my httpd.conf?

The last script I installed was RaQ4-All-Security-2.0.1-15959.pkg on my main server, and I did a kernel update on my second one.
RaQ4-All-Kernel-2.0.1-2.2.16C35-III-1.pkg

Thanks, hope you can help!

Ah... oh... That is not "all of a sudden" as you first typed

I do not have enough knowledge to give solid advice here.

I can tell you how to reboot the machine through SSH. But I do not know if that will help. ...or maybe cause more harm.

You could try rackaid.com But they cost...

1. SSH to the server using your username and password to get access.
2. Type su - at the prompt (which says admin).
3. Type your password in again.
4. You'll now be at root level and the prompt will say root.
5. Type shutdown -r now (-r stands for restart).

Cross your fingers and pray! Reboot will take a while.
From what I've read on the subject... if that doesn't work keep a close eye on your backups. You may need them
