Need Help/Advice on a Merchant Account

I am looking for someone to give me help on a Merchant Account. I am looking for the best, most high quality merchant account possible. Yet, I do not want a application fee. (A startup fee) I cannot afford no 300.00. Anywhere between a $10-25 month fee is fine, and maybe a .10-.30 cent transation fee. I have already found a few places; such as:
http://www.harbor-net.com/cgi-bin/sh...=scmain/retail
or
http://www.1merchantaccounts.com/merchant_accounts.html

These are plans I am looking for, I just need the best quality service. Does anybody reccomend a place to get a merchant account that has qualities I want? Thank you very much, I apprciaite all of your time.

You would need to pay for it.

You can get good M.A.s for reasonable prices though.

BTW: for the first link you listed... you are required to purchase software for $500. So that one is out.

Same with your second link.

Yes, on the second one, if you Purchance the Merchant Plan, you must spend 600.00 or whatever it is. Although, you can lease it for 24.95/month. That would be what I would get. I was looking for other sites though, who would give me a deal. I am looking for little application charge. Also, can someone explain cybercash to me? I'll be back in the morning to reply! Thanks!

I am not doubting you, I am just wondering where it says it costs 500.00 for softwear. I would be interested to read that. Thank you.

I used http://goemerchant.com in the past, and was satisfied. :-)

Check 'em out.

I went to: http://www.harbor-net.com/cgi-bin/sh...=scmain/retail

And near the middle it says: "What type of equipment do I need?" and it's a link... click the link to see.

Do Not get caught in a long-term contract.

Check your email.

Gethosted.com,
I think the softwear on harbor-net that you saw (that was $500.00) is for actual real life processing. When you click on what the product is, it shows you a little swiping machine, for real life transations. I do not want any of those. I just want a simple merchant account, that accepts credit card via. online.

Also, http://goemerchant.com looks like a good place. Isn't the transation % of 2.25% a little much compared to other places? I wouldn't know because I've never done this. If you have used them before, and like them, I may consiter signing up under you and getting you that referal bonus, or whatever. It said for every person you refer you get 200 and some odd bucks. Does goemercant.com make you pay any application fee, softwear fees, ect.? I just want to pay the $15.00 month+, 20 cents transation fee, and 2.25% fee. No application charge or anything. Thank you. Does anyone else have any comments on goemerchant.com or anything else? Thanks a lot guys!

goemerchant.com is a bit high looking at this price - 39.95 a month Includes Payment Gateway Virtual Terminal and Merchant Account - preloaded .

harbor-net - They have everything needed too but not sure from looking at their site how much authorize.net and merchant account will cost including all fees. They seem to push people into buying their high priced software or equipment, none of which should be needed for Internet transactions.

Remember almost everywhere you go, you will see the following fees. Amounts are just here for sample. These fees should be listed somewhere on their site, if they are not make sure you ask if your interested in the site.

Internet transactions
2.25%

Transaction Fee
20¢

Monthly Service Fee
$10.00

Monthly Minimum
$20.00

Chargeback Fees
$15.00

A good question to ask them:

If I have NO transactions in a month, how much is my TOTAL BILL including all costs I will see and what are they?

I would suggest sticking with the Authorize.net gateway just because it's the most widely used gateway with lot's of software support. We have a gateway account with VeriSign and it's hard to find software that supports it for ecommerce, billing, etc. Our next gateway will be Authorize.net for sure ..

Thumbs up

I had the $49.95 account, and it had a really nice interface. Very easy to manage, and had a lot of features.

I thought charge.com was actually better after looking at all the reviews, but when I got my account, it looked like the whole system was just outdated.

I don't think you can go wrong with goemerchant.com

Re: Need Help/Advice on a Merchant Account

I also just stumbled upon this site, their rates look fine but I'm still trying to weed through it all. Might want to take a look.
http://www.netbilling.com/main.html

It looks like it's a billing service, merchant account needed. So I'm sure additional charges apply here. It does however look like a nice service.

Anyone know anything about them?

Oh, you pay 49.95 for the Pay By Check program? How is that different from the regular merchant program that just has a 15.00 fee? If the pay by check program has to deal with checks and money orders, I do not want to spend the extra 35.00 a month, because we want to do checks ourselves. Please give me info on this. Thank you!

They list hardware terminals for people that need CC swiping. They also list software... which I would guarantee is required: "PC Software
Reduce errors, paperwork, desktop clutter, and charge backs."

I emailed you about a good merchant solution with Authorize.net.
