Black Friday is Coming - How Will You Spend That Day?

So here comes Black Friday again. I think here in the U.S. it is quickly coming under consideration to become a national holiday.

How do you plan to spend that day?
    1. Will you battle a crowd of shoppers at your local BestBuy for the last $50.00 outdated 32 inch flat screen TV?
    2. Will you spend your time getting a blister from your mouse trying to click into sites that are over run and can't handle the shopping traffic?
    3. Will you simply stay home, lock the doors and windows, close the curtains and wait for the madness to pass?

Personally, I am going with option #3.

I'll surely not spend it (1) getting run over by angry mobs of people... some of (2) if I find good deals and (3) combined

I'll likely be working. Maybe some time with family, too.

You need to get your people to do that for you.

I'm quiet lucky being in the UK, we don't get that US drama, but we do celebrate it in a few shops and most UK companies on-line do. Only because it beings a lot of business in. I will be working myself .

Pfft, I'm at the bottom of the totem pole. Plus, it's fun to be right there in the action.

Not sure yet... I need some shoes and can't really buy them online. Not sure I'll go out on Black Fri to get them though.

I'll stay at home. There is nothing that I need that is worth being trampled over to save a few dollars. I'll wait for Cyber Monday and order a few things that I could use from the comfort (and safety!) of my home.

In fact, I do almost all of my holiday shopping online. Did a lot of 'last minute' shopping last year, and thanks to Amazon Prime I got everything in a timely fashion. I try to avoid the big box stores after Thanksgiving until the New Year.

Hide all credit cards from wife and daughters and I'll be out of sight so they can't find me.

Possibly, but not sure. We may have to deal with the greedy dumbasses on the road depending on what the next course of action is from the doctors.

We plan on spending time together as a family (my new family) given our extremely limited time we have together. Terminal illness tends to do that.

I'll be at home watching the news... see if the "shot" rate goes up... see how many "stampedes" (with someone under foot) happens... how many parents get into a fight over the latest toy.

You know, Grand Old American Consumerism watching!!!

I think it was a Walmart last year where people went bat crazy trampling each other. It's sad, but these are the days when people have to "make a dollar out of 15 cents".

The last time I went out on Black Friday was 1998. That was such a bucket of BS that I decided it was never again worth it. Most of the best deals are in Feb-March or Oct anyway -- not BF.

In my country Black Friday slowly comes to consumer traditions but I hope that I can get something interesting. Of course, I'm not terrible shopaholic, I will seek the things that I've looked for long time but either discouraged me the price or I could not find exactly that I would fully enjoyed.

I will spend the day buying some clothes and some work shoes, like a nice pair of black wingtips and some slacks. I will get up early but I won't wait in line at 4:00am like many others. Most of the doorbusters are pretty good deals but I'm probably going to end up arriving at the mall at around 8:00 am with my wife of course.
