Serious problem with email and host4geeks
Hello all!
before start, i want to clarify that i decided to public this message because i'm desperate, after 11 days with a problem that i consider really serious without getting a real solution, i hope that writing this message Host4Geeks-Kushal will handle this with the seriousness that deserves.
The main and the only objective of this message is to get a solution, a real one.
i'll go into the problem.
Since 11 days ago, neither I nor my clients can send e-mails to hotmail, yahoo, or any other mail provider that checks blacklist before accept messages.
Code:SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM:<claudio@diagonalbranding.com> SIZE=59315: host mx4.hotmail.com 207.46.8.199: 550 OU-002 (BAY004-MC6F20) Unfortunately, messages from 198.251.81.10 weren't sent. Please contact your Internet service provider since part of their network is on our block list.
As far as I was told, After two DDOS attacks, the host4geeks guys changed the ip address of the server, and accidentally hit one that it was blacklisted.
Well, bad luck, i thought, should be something like send a message and get that ip out of that list, maybe a couple of hours, a day, maybe two days? not at all...
i've created a ticket on Friday 3th and after a couple dozens of "ok, it's fixed, please check it now" messages, the problem is still there, moreover it seems that the support operators didn't read the entire ticket before answer, because i've got, up to 5 times the same answer.
friday all my sites were offline the entire day, and after that I receive a message telling that the server ip was changed again so that the e-mail problem should be solved.
Today i've just check that the problem remains, so I went to the live support to ask for help, and he just gave me the same reply that i received all the time:
"We already forwarded a request to remove the blacklist of the IP addresss as the IP address is blacklisted, in order to get effective it will take a couple of days."
I've just check and the ip remains the same, so what happened here?, and another big question, if the ip remains the same, so then 11 days wasn't enough to get out of the blacklist?
The main problem is that one time the ip was actually removed from the blacklist, but in the next day were blacklisted AGAIN
So i don't know what the root of the problem is, but i need to get this solved as soon as possible.
I can not afford to lose more clients because of this issue!
i think that it's fair to say that this is the first problem that i have with host4geeks, i've been very happy with these guys until a couple of weeks ago. I hope to have this solved soon and to get back to that reliable hosting that you used to provide.
Please help!

Ouch 11 days is too long without emails. I don't see their IP 198.251.81.10 in any of the blacklists at mxtoolbox.
But it is possible that their CIDR may be blocked at Microsoft. Have host4geeks contact MSN and remove the block. Use URL

I think the Root is to find the Spamming in the server, block it and change the Mail relay IP address. Support should be able to do this.

We are aware of the problem. Unfortunately, providers such as microsoft / hotmail do not have a public blacklist that they use, it's slightly more difficult to resolve these issues with them.
The IP is not on any publicly available blocklist at this moment and we are still waiting to hear back from Hotmail on this, although they promise to get back within 48 to 72 hours but we have not been able to get a response / resolution regarding this. This unfortunately is a downside of a shared hosting environment.
An alternative would be, if you get a dedicated IP for yourself, I can route all your emails through that IP.█ Kushal || Host4Geeks || Operating Fully Owned Infrastructure out of 4 Global Datacenters US / UK / India

@Host4Geeks-Kushal Hotmail will reply to you soon. But they use a lot of filters and if the emails are blocked based on those, they will have to contact them on your behalf to lift the block.
Recently one of our client faced a similar issue and emails were blocked by Symantec filters used by Hotmail. They had to wait 5 working days to lift the block.
This unfortunately is a downside of a shared hosting environment.█ WebHostRepo.com
