WHM Mounting New HDD

Hi,

I just got my ISP to install an additional HDD onto my dedicated server.

I tried to format and mount my HDD through WHM and it asked me to choose among three file systems to format the new HDD with:

ext2/ext3/Reiserfs

Does anyone know of a good website that talks about (and compares) these Linux filesystems?

What is the best filesystem to use if I'm using the new HDD primarily for backup?

Without getting into too many details, I'd recommand going with ext3.

Just use the same file format as your main HD. If the existing one use ext3 .. then use ext3 as well for your new HD.

also using one you weren't before is risky because chances are you didn't compile support for it into the kernel so you'd have to patch the kernel which is lots of fun =)

chances are i'm putting money the one your not using is Reiserfs.

Thanks, for all your advice guys. I've gone with ext3.

After formatting, WHM has mounted it as /home2

The point in having the second HDD was to use for backup. So when I went to the backup options in WHM, it says that I'll have to mount the backup drive as dir/nfs/coda. What is that and how do I go about mounting it as such?
