MOTM: April Nominations
Fellow Members of WebHostingTalk, the time has come again to nominate those we think deserve the honor. To those of you who do not know what this is all about:
Each month, we (participating members of the community) get together and nominate members we think should be acknowledged. The members do not have to be hosts, they may be customers also. It is a two part process - nominations and voting. The 5 members with the highest number of nominations will go on to the final voting, from which we will vote on the one member we think should be acknowledge as the Member of the Month for that given month. This member will receive the prize announced and (thanks to Reptilian Feline) a "certificate" that will be posted on WHT. Prizes come from donations by the community so please donate .
Below are the rules for April 2003.
These rules will be posted in every nomination thread as they are subject to change from month to month:
Note: There is no more limit of 1 nomination per member
- Members may not nominate themselves.
- Members are allowed to make only three nominations per month.
- Only members who have registered prior to the given month are eligible. (Registered Date Must be March 31st, or earlier.
- Moderators are not eligible (Any moderators added after April 15th are still eligible)
- Members who have won in the previously in the same year (2002 excluded) are not eligible for nomination in the current month. Currently, this includes SoftWareRevue, Vito, Yupapa and UH-Matt.
- In the event of a tie, no prize will be issued.
- Nominations will normally begin on the final Wednesday of a month, and end 7 days thereafter, or when the nomination thread is closed (whichever comes first).
- Voting will begin on the day after the nomination period ends, and will last for 7 days, or when the poll is closed (whichever comes first).
- A Nomination must include the following:
+ MemberName with link to profile
+ Reason for nomination (and not just (s)he makes me laugh)
+ (optional) link to specific post(s)/thread(s) that are worth mentioning.
That being said, let's get on to prize information
Currently we have $40 in the WHT MOTM fund available for prizes. If you would like to donate a prize or give me ideas for prizes, please PM or email me.
If you would like to donate to the MOTM Fund, please click here to go to the PayPal Donation screen.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Now that's all outta the way....on with the nominations
Note: The Owners/Other Moderators/Administrators of WHT are in no involved in this. This is being coordinated by me, with the help of other forum members, in an effort to improve the quality of the community and give recognition where it is deserved. If you have any problems/questions/concerns, please email or PM me0

I nominate Is0lized because he's always humorous, but not only that he has helped me greatly and I am sure he has helped others as well.

I nominate "mcdesign" because he has managed to help quite a few people, as well as give me and get me some work.
He doesn't only care about himself, he tries to help others succeed also.

He hasn't been here much recently but has been here for such as long time and deserves MOTM more than anyone else in my honest opinion.Last edited by tazzy; 04-30-2003 at 09:17 PM.

Chicken. Definitely. Even though he's now gone, he's been extremely valuable to this community. WHT wouldn't have been...what it used to be...without Chicken's hard work.

Don't need a reason, you should know! What does one host say to the other? "(HostA) Want to go see a movie?" "(HostB) Sure, can your parents drive?"
I'm premium, and no, I did not have to pay $6 a month to figure that out.0

Chicken.....No question about it. He truly made WHT a better place. He was greatly involved in the forums and it was sad to see him go, but I think we should pay him respect in honor of his dedicated and time put to WHT by giving him MOTM....better yet...MOTY

It's really unfair to force someone to run against Chicken.
Chicken: 531
Other: 2
hmmm . . . .
Thinking of who I would like to embarass by nominating. There is no best host. There is only the host that's best for you.0

Hey thanks all! I've seen these things every month (-ish) and have gotten used to the idea that I wasn't eligible and it is rather surprising to see this, heh.
Thank you (again) for the nominations and (again), the kind words in this thread. I only helped out around here as much as I could for you, and for the good of the community, never wanted to sell you anything or had alterior motives, heh, and although no thanks, kind words, nominations, etc., are needed, it sure is nice to read and made my day! I shall go off to work with a smile
I've been quite busy with HHO, but do try to stop in and see how everyone is doing, catch up with the latest news, and help out the current mods (by PM) whenever asked. Hopefully will get a bit more time to read once I get a few more things done. I do have this urge to try to build a deck (even got a book!). Might need some virtual help on that one
Take care...0
