PC Question
Fired up a PC sitting here for a couple of months. Got a blue screen and message "Memory Dump". Then black screen saying "Operating System Not Found". Subsequent boots goes right to "OS not found"
I changed internal battery and no help. Make matters worse there is a bad CD drive on this machine and no current tape backup.
It's an old Dell 550. I could pull the drive and slave it to the desktop I have now, but I would like to restore OS and save the files/programs so I can use this machine when others are busy.
Any ideas? Oh yeah, OS is XP ProLast edited by OMC; 04-30-2003 at 06:44 PM.
I spent a lot of time climbing the ladder of life.
Then... I found out it was leaning against the wrong wall.

Can you reinstall XP? Or do you only have 1 license?

Your only option would be to slave it to another machine - take off the drive what you need and reformat it.
Or get yourself a new CD drive so you can reinstall XP.
Have you tried "safe mode"?
It could also be that your HD may have gone out on you as well.██ Hosting.Express | Affordable Web and Email Hosting
