2for1host: what do you think of them?
I'm running a web site that needs to be switched to an account with higher bandwidth, but I'm on a tight budget.
I just found today a host named 2for1host.net
Their hosting plan is very cheap, 1000mb + 50gb/mo transfer for $60/y which is very good for both my budget and needs.
But before I sign up, I would appreciate it if you guys, specially those who are using their services, advice me of things like reliability, speed, uptime and Email support. My web site is important to me, so I want to make sure they are cheap on charges only, not on the quality of service.
Please give me your advice regarding this host.
(ps: or perhaps you know of a better deal/service quality?)

That's one if the slowest loading host sites I visited this month though ping times were pretty good. I never heard of the host before this post.

2 for 1 is an upstart company from another hosting firm, Essene.ca, so search on essene. The server is at The Planet, Out of curiosity I signed up and at the time for $10 more obtained WHM with the plan. After 2 weeks everything was going fine, then there was a hard drive failure. They were able to recover the site I had loaded onto the new hard disk, but it was also a machine move which took time for the nameservers to propagate to the new ip. That has been about a month ago and all is well up to now. I am still cautious and not loading any more sites as of yet, even with only 1 site it's still not a bad deal for less than $7 a month. My 3 or 4 requests have all been handled with 24 hours, a couple immediately. I'm also not sure what it will cost after the first 2 years, they said the second year would be the same as the first, that makes it sound as if they signed a 2 year contract at The Planet. I know their site loads slow, mine works as I would expect. I'm not giving the URL because it is a member site.

They're plan is 1gb of space and 50gb transfer a month, for only $60/ a year? Is that correct?
if that's the case, then you'll be paying only $5/mo for that service.
If you're so concerned with your site, you'd think you wouldn't be too interested in the price, but worry about the host as a whole.
That's mightly cheap!

Agreed. I did a double take - but who am I to say how good their service is... Out of curiosity, how much space has your site taken lightweb?

If you choose this host, or any host, that offers 50 GBs of bandwidth and 1 GB of space for $5.00/mo, then make sure to bookmark WHT. You will be back.
It is simple econmics. Not magic beans. No one can offer 50 GBs for $5.00/mo and 1 GB of space. Would you really want to be on a host who oversells and attracts script kiddies who burn bandwidth and kill your server? Ask Alwayswebhosting about this. They had a similar offer. They found out the hard way what the real deal is.
My advice. Ask about some information on the host owners. Then do a search on their age. From what I have seen over the years is that it is most host run by teenagers who tend to have no idea about pricing and margins. But hey. Thats just what I have noticed.

so basiclly you are saying that to give a feeling of quality service you got to raise your prices? I have been with a host for 2 years now, and still am, and his prices are unbelievably cheap (host4students) but their servers are fast, the service is great and support is super.
I dont know how they manage to do it that cheap, perhaps less staff. But they sure make money out of it, or at least plan to in the future.
Its better to judge from real users. Prices can be deseaving in both ways

No. I am saying someone with any knowledge of business at all would tell you those prices are retarded. Sorry you can not see that. I am happy you are getting such a good deal and enjoy it.
Also, as stated before.....

Another thing. A host with a few sites can offer those rates. host4students.com from my queries doesn't resolve many domains. . Of course they could say they are using RSs DNS.

Do a search on RS. Your host uses them.
