Windows XP Hate rant..
I'm really starting to hate Windows XP now, i had to format to solve some problems now they are coming back again
I formated on April 11th, now looks like i will have to format again
1) A few of my "Typed URLS" Won't go away now, this happened before, spent hours on the phone with Microsoft Tech, and the only way to resolve this was to create a new account, since they proved my user account was corrupted, now it happened again..
2) My CD-RW stooped burning, spent hours on the phone with nero and lite-on tech support, never found out the problems, only way to fix is to format.
3) Had problems with norton anti virus, never ever had problems with it before on XP or 2k, not i can't reinstall it. Only way to fix that i guess is to format, since i tried everything else.
This is just really starting to piss me off, what will i have to do? Format XP every few weeks just to keep it runing? I like how XP works, but not all the problems it is causing. This isn't even worth the $30 i paid for Xp Pro (Got it from my friend that works at microsoft) I wouldn't even pay $10 for this abuse i am getting.
This just upsets me, i can't do anything on my computer without it messing up, these problems keep coming back even AFTER i format, what is the problem?Don't look for a way out.

Hmmm, I have had XP Pro for about a year now, and I haven't received any problems. I am actually ready to format soon to just start fresh, as I love the speed and cleanliness of a freshly formatted computer

I've been using Windows XP for months and do not like it. Runs okay but prefer Windows '98.

I hate XP too... i think i might reformat and install 2000 again... until i can afford a new Power Mac... you *never* have to reformat with OS X, unless one day you boot up and you get the unhappy face... but normally thats because you did rm -rf / or something stupid...
Its gonna take a loong looong time to save over $3000 from selling templates on WHT... people just dont wanna pay sensible prices anymore... they want everything for $10...Gone.

Windows XP is fine with me, I've been using it for over a year now and have never had any major problems.
The one time I did need support, I was helped very quickly and even recieved followup's from the person I was dealing with. Excellent service IMO - maybe you won't get such good support with pirated copy's
My computer stays switched on 24/7 I only restart it every week or two usually because I'm going away for the whole day or need to move it.
As an 'OS' for the masses, it's the best choice

Sorry about changing the subject but the point psioin mentioned about people not willing to pay sensible prices for templates is driving me crazy. I sell templates here once in a while, and well I don't think I charge too much (about $150) for a template, depends on the quality. And every time I get a post by someone who says its a bit pricy maybe I should lower my price and I'll have more luck selling it.
People I don't want to sell my templates for $10, I'd rather frame them and put them on the wall....why do you starting designers sell stuff for $10, Is it worth your time? try putting a bit more effort into the design so It looks like a pixel brick (at least to you) and ask what you think you deserve. not what the buyers market on WHT wants you to ask for it.
the only way it's going to become a sellers market and not a buyers market is if people stop selling templates for $10 or even $50.
once again sorry about the subject change.

Back on topic
The only computer that I had XP on was the one I use at the office on an HP 1.6 Ghz P4. I didn't care much for it at all, but it was the Home Edition of it and it just seemed like a huge resource hog and everything ran pretty slow. I built two other PC's within the last six months and installed Win ME and 98SE on them because of my negative experience with XP Home.
Over the weekend, I went out and got XP Professional and installed it on the one that was running ME. It seems that Win XP Professional is extremely fast and looks like it is using less less resources than the old ME. This is on an Athlon XP 1700+. I was so impressed, I went and got another and put it on the 98SE machine. I've been a fan of 98SE because it was the better MS product in my experience, but after seeing how well XP Professional performs, that will be my OS of choice for quite a while.www.square-network.com www.squarenetwork.com

When I got my new computer last December, it ha XP Home on it, and XP only survived for some 28 hours before I formatted and put Win2k pro on it. I've only formatted once since then and that was because of a total screwup on my part.
I hate XP and its funky looking interface (I know you can turn it off), and a couple of my programs wouldnt run very well, and the lack of java support for applications (could've downloaded java but I was on 56k at the time). It is also memory hog and it looks like the whole thing is one huge memory leak. Heck, WinME lasted longer on my laptop because it did nag me as much.
Anyways, I'm done with my "hate XP" rant. Win2k will be my OS of choice until I can get my hands on something better or if I happen to like linux.Don't like what I say? Ignore me.
