    Is Paypal down?

I've never seen Paypal down before. When I try to get to their site, all I get is:

    Failed to load template [p/gen/down]

The PayPal website is temporarily unavailable due to maintenance. Ok, we were playing football in the DC and someone tripped on the main power cord. The goal was disallowed and we'll have everything fixed after drinks break. It will be available again at approximately 3:30 am PDT. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Heh, next time I'll quote you. That way I'll have it cast in stone...

Shame about the timing for Paypal maintenance (at least for me). I just watched someone go through my site and try to place an order via Paypal. Needless to say it didn't work. Oh well, hope they come back.

    Up but "unavilable"
What does one host say to the other? "(HostA) Want to go see a movie?" "(HostB) Sure, can your parents drive?"

I'm premium, and no, I did not have to pay $6 a month to figure that out.

Looks like they are undergoing some much needed changes. Can't wait to see the final outcome

Change your system so the basic order details are captured on the site and stored before moving to the payment processor.

We do this and it works a treat, especially when paysystems is down.

PayPal I like for paying for items etc. IMO, Paysystems is the more advanced system for recurring payments etc. I couldn't imagine using PayPal for collecting hosting revenues.

    the keyword here is uptime

If I'm not wrong I guess paysystems were down for over a month earlier..(and many of the members here know about it as well)

but paypal on the other hand ..if at all they are down

    1) there is a clear notice on their website
2)IMHO: they have not been down for more than 6 hrs at a stretch for the last 2 years.
