APIC errors

Whats the most common cause of APIC errors on a system running dual cpu and redhat?

And whats a fix? What is the most compatible and problem free motherboard for a dual cpu redhat machine?

Supermicro makes some very good dual cpu motherboards.

What is the APIC error you are getting?

I used to get a lot of kernel panics on installing redhat with one of my server boxes, so I started the install with 'expert noapic' and i've never had a problem

Well we tried to set noapic in the boot loader conf but that doesnt work. This is only happening on about 10 systems that all use the same motherboard. Its a tyan dual intel board, the 250t . I suppose for now we will just replace the motherboards but were looking for a good replacement that wont give us the same problem. We will give super micro a shot. thanks, Paul
