    VPS Alternative to HostGator?

    Hello everyone,

Long-time viewer, first time poster. I have finally given up on HostGator and the canned reasons why load speeds are up and uptime is down, and I need to move on. I have about 40 small client sites and one medium-sized site (mine) that I am looking for a host to move to a managed VPS with cPanel and WHM who will migrate all of our sites while maintaining custom name servers along the way as all sites point to these name servers.

Any recommendations would be sincerely appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

    -Darren

In the offers section, tmzVPS is doing some really good ones right now. They offer full management.

Hi Darren, welcome to WHT! I believe HG was taken over by EIG and you are suffering from the all too common symptoms of their take over. There are a load of providers who are out there that can help you but it would help if we narrowed down exactly what you need:

    1. What is the ideal location for the VPS?
    2. What are the specs you are looking for? (CPU, RAM, Disk, etc..)
    3. What is your budget for this?

We haven't been with them for that long, but so far, ssdvps.com has been treating us very good.

Thanks for the quick responses Mark & John...

    John, to answer your questions:

I was actually ready to go with a host with the following stats but they didn't offer reseller:

    3584MB RAM
    50GB RAID10 SSD Storage
    3x Priority 24 CPU Cores
    4500GB Premium Bandwidth

    cost was $70 monthly...

What do you mean by they didn't offer reseller? Like they didn't offer cPanel or something?

And both provide you with the ability to resell hosting.....so I'm not sure what you mean by "didn't offer reseller".

My apologies, I used the incorrect term. Due to the specific need I had regarding name servers and migrating one vs. all of our site, I couldn't use them. So the term "reseller" was used by me improperly.
