Recently opened an account with a respected (here) host, which came with WHM. Last time I did that, (several years ago) all I had to do was log in and was ready to go. Now, apparently, I have to configure everything from scratch and install cpanel & softaculous. I've never done that before, and there is no information on site to help. Googling got me, of course, the cpanel homepage, but also help info from a bunch of hosts. Hostgator has detailed and much clearer instructions than cpanel, and even a couple of videos. I've ended up there a couple of times with other issues recently, even though I won't use them as a host (EIG strikes again).
For the other relative noobs out there, I thought I'd ask -- any thoughts on which hosts have the best do-it-yourself help info that you can use before bombarding your host's support desk with tickets?
not specifically a reseller or VPS, they only have one category of hosting, and all plans come with WHM.
The good news is, I just looked again and everything is live -- everything was grayed out yesterday afternoon & again earlier today.
Thanks for the responses, but I really am interested in anyone's comments on good on-site info at various hosts. I suspect that big hosts may have the most, but I don't mind peeking if have questions to be answered.
