    Storage VPS

Need a VPS with 100-200 GB space, 400-500 GB bandwidth and 300-400mb ram. Going to use it as a backup server.
    Should have a "good" connection.

Am not sure how the price should be on these kinds of servers.

    Thanks

Have you checked out backupsy.com? They have backup servers at a nice price.

Before signing up with anyone you should check the hosting offers out here on WHT you will finds lots of good hosts who offer a fair amount if disk space for a decent price. Be sure to ask about the provider of the server before you bother signing up with them.

Most providers offer a decent amount of disk space when if cones to vps and if you ever do FIBD the right spec'ed server but if any thing is off or low I am pretty sure you may have the option of purchasing additional resources.

If you need a bigger space go with a dedicated server. You can find a budget Server from Europe . OVH and Hetzner is good for backup servers.

For setups larger then 500 GB definitely go with dedicated server. A lot cheaper then VPS with that amount of storage.

Everything depends on budget you can pay. So what's your budget?
Also location is very important here.

Should I have the backup server in the same country as my server?
Or could I have one server in UK and backup in US?

You should select nearest location of your current server. You will need to upload and download files from backup server.

I would recommend just to get a dedicated server for that large amount of storage. If you just need the server for backups, you can get a low end spec server and probably put some RAID on it, while still remaining at low budget.

We are in the US, and our backup servers are in France. If you just need them for backup, cheap and uptime is the number 1 factor.

Most backups run in the morning, so it doesn't really matter if it takes 10 minutes or 20 minutes.

Spreading out your resources is good, too, as it reduces the chances of losing everything.
