I've never tested this, but it would explain a problem I have from time to time...

I now have DSL -- and DSL sucks compared to cable, which is sadly not an option here. Everyday, it grabs a new IP for whatever dumb reason. I can only guess that they have more subscribers that IPs, although that still doesn't make much sense.

Some of the IPs it grabs work like @ss, and I don't understand why. All I can guess is that something external is flooding it with traffic, whether it be a game or home-hosted site.

It's tainted.

I have to reset the modem and routers, and randomly get a new one. Then it's fine.

What causes this? Or am I correct?

I ran into this very issue this morning. Lots of latency issues, lots of connections issues. But new IP = no problem.
